Most of the players discarded the knit helmets and did not often wear the shoulder pads available. Uniforms were kept at home. Transportation was anything that animal or steam could propel, but usually horse and buggy were used for short trips and the train for longer trips.
The football field was where the present First Street School is located. Spectators often sat on wooden fence railing or stood on the porch to watch the football games. Later the field was moved to the area where the War Memorial Civic Center currently stands. Later the WPA constructed a football field at the Fair Grounds during the depression years.
